My Story

About me

Music is the most important thing to me! Beyond the world of DJing, I also love to play piano and dabble in music production. However music isn't the only art from I practice, as drawing and digital art are also huge parts of my life!

I practice Jiu Jitsu multiple times a week, and have been training since 2010! I also identify as a massive "nerd"; loving everything from Zelda, and Dragon Ball, to Resident Evil and Studio Ghibli!

When I need to get out of the house, you can often find me exploring! Typically escaping in nature, or checking out a new city!

Hello world! My name is Tyler, professionally known as DJ Soup! I have been a professional DJ for 13 years now; with over 1,000 club gigs, 300+ weddings, and dozens of birthday parties, school dances, corporate parties, and more under my belt.

At age 15, I received my first DJ set up from a family friend who was going to throw it away. From that point on, I knew what my calling in life was. The next three years were then spent learning everything I could about the craft of mixing.

At age 18 I began taking bookings and working as professional DJ, performing at under 21 nights. The year that followed saw me performing in night clubs I wasn't even old enough to get into, being forced to perform and then immediately leave. This was the start of a long tenure as a full time night club DJ, often performing 3-5 nights a week with the occasional wedding or private party mixed in.

When the pandemic happened in 2020, my life completely changed. The world shut down, and all the momentum I had worked so hard to gain had come to a screeching halt.

Three years later in 2023, I got the opportunity to work with Main Event DJs. From then on I found myself working anywhere 60-80 weddings a year!

Present day, I still work 60-80 weddings a year and don't plan on slowing down! I also host weekly music bingo nights, and I bi-weekly open deck night for other DJs to come showcase their skills. The success in the DJ world had enabled me to take on a new role as an event organizer, often organizing and hosting public events where I will have the opportunity to perform!
